For the duration of the FIFA World Cup 2010, the Swiss TV sports channel
SF2 is
broadcasted over the IFI wired network. This service is offered by CSG and
is available to all IFI members.
Setup and Configuration
The signal is delivered as an MPEG UDP multicast stream in the following
IFI subnets:
-
130.60.155.0/24
-
130.60.156.0/24
Within these subnets the stream can be received using a multicast-enabled,
MPEG-capable streaming client such as VLC,
which is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and many other platforms.
To display the stream in VLC, these steps have to be followed:
-
Media > Open Network Stream...
-
Select Protocol: RTP, Address: 239.0.0.1, Port: 2000
-
Click "Play"
In addition, the local firewall has to be configured to allow incoming
traffic on UDP port 2000.
Note: If you use VMware on Windows and you have configured VMware
interface adapters, then disable these interfaces to be able to receive
the multicast stream.
