Replication is an important aspect of distributed systems. TomP2P uses an all-or nothing replication approach. Furthermore, a peer in a P2P networks communicates with its neighbors. This can be exploited and network parameters, such as replication factor, concurrent connections can be adapted to meet given reliability requirements. The first goal of this thesis is to implement and test such an automatic network configuration based on local peer observation and test it in various scenarios. The second goal of this thesis is to extend TomP2P with more sophisticated replication and synchronization mechanisms. The resulting prototype should be able to synchronize data in a fully distributed manner.
