The major task of this thesis includes planning, designing, implementing, and testing selected BioLANCC security concepts. The goal is to improve security by identifying relevant attack scenarios and proposing counter measures. These counter measures shall be implemented in the current version of BioLANCC. It is important that these security features do not limit the current functionality. This will be complemented by the new licensing mechanism that allows validating a proper license as well as integrity-checking of BioLANCC and a resource restriction mechanism, e.g., limited amount of devices per installation. Finally, BioLANCC shall be extended by an access mechanism that supports privileges for users operating BioLANCC.
