The CSG team was very active at this years IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (ICBC 2020), May 2-6, 2020, Toronto, Canada, which was held as a virtual conference.
The CSG team presented the tutorial on "Practical Introduction to Blockchain-based Remote Electronic Voting", introducing practically core concepts for Remote Electronic Voting and the use of Blockchains. The tutorial, conducted by Christian Killer, presented an overview of different electronic voting initiatives with a focus on Switzerland and the system Provotum, a prototypical implementation of a BC-based REV system.
Further, the CSG was represented by two successful papers submissions and their respective presentations. On the first day, the work "SC-Flare: Cooperative DDoS Signaling based on Smart Contracts" by Bruno Rodrigues, Spasen Trendafilov, Eder John Scheid, and Burkhard Stiller was presented by Bruno Rodrigues. Then, in the final conference day, the work "A Controlled Natural Language to Support Intent-based Blockchain Selection" by Eder John Scheid, Patrick Widmer, Bruno Rodrigues, Muriel Franco, Burkhard Stiller was presented by Eder Scheid. Both presentations took place online in Webex sessions with 20+ attendees and discussions boards were setup using a shared Google Docs document.
