In total, 13 exercise sheets are released on Thursdays, about every week. An exercise sheet addresses the content of previous lectures. After the release date, one week is available before the discussion takes place on Thursdays at 10.00. While the submission of the answers is not mandatory, a 10% bonus (in terms of exam points) is allocated for those who submit a complete set of answers for at least 10 out of 13 exercises. For students enrolled only in one of the Computer Networks (CN) or Distributed Systems (DS) parts, the minimum requirement is 5 full submissions for each part to receive the 10% bonus. In any case, students must submit the exercise on the "Security" topic to obtain the bonus. Submissions must be uploaded via OLAT latest by Wednesdays 11:00 pm. Late submissions are not accepted.
Be aware that some questions may not allow for a definite answer to encourage a discussion during the exercises. During the exercises, all questions and tasks are addressed. Volunteers might be asked to present their views and replies.

An exercise sheet mostly addresses the content of that day's lecture. After the release, six days are available to complete the exercise and submit the solution via OLAT. The exercise is discussed in the exercise session of the day after the submission deadline. Therefore, solutions have to be submitted before the beginning of the exercise session.
Exercises of this lecture are determinant for all students who want to achieve successful participation in the written exam. In order to judge individual understandings of exercise contents, tutors may ask students at any time and unexpected to present their solution. Students that submit at least ten out of the thirteen proposed exercises throughout the semester will receive a bonus of 10% in the final grade. In order to receive the bonus, every student has to fulfill the following requirements:
The correct answers for the exercises will be provided and discussed during the exercise class. Therefore, individual feedback will not be provided.
